A few weeks ago, I shared the home decor items that are filling my cart when I go thrifting. Today, it’s all about the fashion pieces that I’m reaching for these days.
All of the items on my list are pieces that designers are reinterpreting today. So you could go on Moda Operandi or Net-a-Porter, and splurge on a $3,000 lived-in leather jacket, or go to your local Goodwill and find the very jacket that inspired that one…for $20.
Not only is thrifting a more affordable way to shop trends, it also happens to be better for the environment. And frankly, my friends, vintage is sexy and we should all be shopping it more. So, below, what I’m hunting for at the thrift store and how I’d style it.
Vintage concert tees
I recently bought this exact tee from a vintage shop in Minneapolis and have already worn it five times in two weeks. Love the idea of pairing it with a suit, heels, structured handbag, and a bright lip.
Vintage t-shirt // trousers // blazer // mesh heels // earrings // ring // lipstick // handbag
Behemoth gold earrings
If you’re even remotely tuned in to designer fashion, you’ve seen the Bottega Veneta earrings that everyone from Kendall Jenner to Hailey Bieber has worn. They are fabulous, but they are also around $800 for costume jewelry. My advice? Hit up your local antique mall and scour the glass cases up front (you generally have to ask for a key but there are always racks of $12 earrings, etc.). Look for clip-on or pierced pieces in shades of gold and silver and make sure they are oversized.
1980s earrings (under $15, btw) // white crewneck dress (I have this in black and LOVE it) // mesh flats // satin hair bow // cocoon cardigan // lip and cheek balm // woven leather tote // portable coffee mug (on final sale and under $8!)
Lived-in leather jackets
I have a handful of thrifted leather jackets but my favorite is a chocolate-hued, button piece from the ‘90s by the brand Winlit. I was completely unfamiliar with this brand before I thrifted it. It’s not a luxury label, but damn their leather jackets look very now and are all over the place on eBay.

Rapid Fire
What I’m watching: Love is Blind, I can’t quit you. I have been gaslit by every contestant on this show and in that sense, the producers know exactly what they are doing. I am convinced everyone here is a sociopath. I love every minute.
What I’m reading: The Cut’s financial advice columnist was conned out of $50,000 by someone purporting to be a CIA agent and calling her from a number that said “Amazon.” She took the money out of her checking account, put it in a shoe box, and handed it to someone driving by in a car. There are a lot of layers to this (why would you put $50,000 in checking when you could at least put it in a high yield savings account? Why would you answer the phone if it says “Amazon?” Why would you believe a CIA agent with a “vague accent” that tells you to put $50k in a shoebox and hand it over?) Read this if you want to scream out loud, “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?” and make yourself feel smarter in the knowledge that you would never fall for something like this.
and I’ll leave you with this…
