Where to Thrift & Shop for Antiques in Greensboro, NC

I’ve waxed poetic about my love for one specific secondhand store in Greensboro before but the truth is, the entire town is full of great vintage shopping. That’s partly because Greensboro is a town with lots of history, any place with a lengthy history means it’s full of people who have inhabited it for generations— and those people have a lot of cast-offs that wind up at the local thrift.
But Greensboro’s proximity to High Point, North Carolina — the literal furniture capital of the world — is another thing that makes it a true destination for design-lovers. The showrooms in High Point (from brands like Maitland Smith, Visual Comfort, the companies that produce the furniture for Restoration Hardware, and others) are only open so many weeks of the year. Once the showrooms close, some of the retailers take their merchandise to nearby consignments or thrift stores. So you can literally find things like brand-new-with-tags, $3,000 Kelly Wearstler chandeliers just hanging in a thrift store.
This week, I’m bringing you my guide to thrifting and antique shopping in Greensboro (with some stops for food/coffee/snacks thrown in for good measure). I’m sure there’s more to see, but these are the spots that I visited and loved.
