I wear something vintage nearly every day of my life and I view putting together an outfit similarly to styling a room: it all looks better if you add something old to the mix.

The past few months have been incredibly busy for me and filled with travel, speaking engagements, and fun with friends. I’ve worn a lot of fun vintage finds along the way — here are all the details.

THRIFTING & WRITING

As I work on book two, I’ve been spending lots of time at coffee shops (it helps when I have a big project to complete that I do it outside my home — not sure why this is, but it helps me delineate everything in my mind).

On this particular day, I wore my all-time favorite vintage jacket — a vintage yearbook jacket made in 1941 and signed by all the original owner’s friends. It’s so sweet and I got it for $25 which is insane because these are so collectible (a lot of designers are making their own newer versions). I wore it with old Sacai trousers (you could get a similar look with these, which I also have), a white cropped tee, these insanely comfortable jelly platforms, this necklace set (they’re combs!), an old Balenciaga bag, and Louis Vuitton sunglasses.

As a side note, I’ve been wearing this lipstick and this lipstick layered. This is a new makeup brand for me and I love it (their blush is the best I’ve ever used).

HOME SHOW IN JACKSONVILLE

For a speaking engagement at the Jacksonville Home & Patio Show, I wore a vintage Yves Saint Laurent blouse purchased in Paris (a good example of why you should shop vintage — they make a new version of this top for $2,500), my favorite flared black jeans, and a vintage Chanel belt ($3 at an estate sale) with a thrifted brass rabbit belt buckle on top (search Etsy for “Mimi Di N buckle”). The bag is by The Row.

  • My very favorite vintage button-up find ever (and who makes it, so you can search for one yourself)

  • The very chic detergent pods I’ve been using to ensure my clothes stay looking and smelling fresh
