If you’re struggling on the bed but loving blankets, Beata Heuman has some great rooms where she turned throw blankets or other textiles into headboards. Excited to see how it turns out!
Sigh, I would love to go thrifting with you, Virginia! But unfortunately, I live in a place that is very expensive to leave (I live on a big island, where transportation options are ferry, airplane or seaplane to get off it). If you ever make it to Vancouver or Seattle, keep me in mind!
I love that burl bed! We bought all of our bedroom furniture over 20 years ago at Bombay Company (I built every piece from a flat-pack!), including a dresser each, a nightstand each and a four-poster canopy bed (I've removed the canopy). Isn't a custom closet a game-changer? I had mine done 20+ years ago and have never regretted it.
Beautiful things in this article, thank you! You have such a good eye.

I'm SO in! (And I LOVE the Mexico City idea!) :))))
