Even if you don’t know of Matilda Goad, you know her stuff. She kind of put scallops on the map in 2016 — bringing the previously twee aesthetic from something you’d see in a sorority house to something that looked right at home in the British countryside.

The English designer knows how to strike a balance between colorful and classic and all of her interiors are romantic and lived-in. They never look too “done,” and that’s what makes them so special.

Matilda mixes color and pattern in a really unique way and, like most of the designers I’ve highlighted in my Thrift the Look series, she uses a lot of vintage.

With that in mind, I rounded up all the patterns, colors, materials, furniture and accessories you should be looking for to replicate the look of Matilda Goad — all by shopping vintage.
