I wrote a few weeks ago about collecting art but this week, I want to focus on how to display it. Framed and hung on the wall is great but that’s not the only way to do it. As someone who has amassed a lot of art in recent years, I’ve had to get inventive. Fortunately, there are a number of inexpensive products that really come in clutch in this area and still make your collection look expensive (even if it’s not).
This rechargeable, under-$25 light is pretty incredible. First of all, it’s tiny enough that it just sticks on to the wall (so you don't even have to put a hole in your wall, though you can if you feel more secure that way!). But it also works just by touch, and it can get brighter or more dim. It also swivels so you can position it above a piece of art so that it illuminates it directly. I ordered it on a whim after seeing it on TikTok and honestly I am so surprised at the quality. It really looks nice when installed.
Every time I post this easel on Instagram I get at least a dozen DMs about it. It is the best, easiest way to display art and looks so damn chic.
Another Amazon find, this very simple frame is actually meant to hold record covers. But I use mine to display pages of old coffee table books as if they are art. It’s the perfect size for many book pages and if the pages are a little big, you can just use an X-acto knife to cut them down slightly.
I hang plates on the wall quite a bit and these inexpensive plate holders always do the job. They are thin enough that they aren’t too obtrusive but they still keep things secure.

Something I read (& loved): A dog-walker has a rolled-up painting in his New York closet that might be a multi-million-dollar Chuck Close.
A movie I watched: Barbie. The hype is real.
A recipe I made: This gooey chocolate banana bread.
and I’ll leave you with this…
