I guess the coming and going of American Thanksgiving signifies the official start of the holiday season, right? To be fair, I’ve been listening to Christmas music for weeks now. What I have waited to do until after Thanksgiving is decorate.
I am a firm believer that, when it comes to holiday decorating, you should be a little reckless. String the tinsel, hang the holly, dress your tree in a mix of beautiful ornaments and the not-so-beautiful, but arguably more special pieces (think: wreaths made out of dried pasta in a first grade classroom).
If you are in the market for something a little more glam, though, there are some killer pieces on the market. Here, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite decorating ideas for Christmas/Hannukah/Festivus what have you. And as an added bonus, many of these pieces are dramatically reduced in honor of the post-Thanksgiving sale season. Go to town.
PS. I am going live on Poshmark later today, 11/26 @ 3 pm EST. I’ll be selling some pieces from my own closet, with proceeds going toward Shop Goodwill’s mission to Create Opportunity.

A movie I watched: Past Lives, a movie is about childhood friends who reunite decades later (and, more broadly, about regret and soulmates). Very indie and slow but relaxing and really, really sweet.
A sale worth shopping: If you don’t want to transfer money from your savings account in order to buy a single pair of earrings from Bottega Veneta (believe me, I’ve thought about it), turn to Heaven Mayhem. They make the best ‘90s-style earrings and they are all deeply reduced currently (all under $100). My favorites are these mini knots, these ribbed rectangles, and these beans which are a great dupe for the Bottegas.
An interior I’m lusting after: This pre-war, Warsaw apartment can get it.
and I’ll leave you with this because it’s my favorite Christmas-themed SNL sketch of all time….
