Cool Stuff For Your Kitchen
It's hosting season, babes
Hiiiii and Happy Sunday. First off, thank you so much for the kind words about my new book! Still lots to do but I’m looking forward to the process and to sharing it all with you.
I thought this week, we’d talk kitchen accessories. It’s already October which means hosting season is ramping up. It’s also my favorite time of year. I love to cook, especially for holidays, and any excuse to do that is welcomed by me.

I think one of the marks of being an adult is having sophisticated, useful items in your kitchen. Nice silverware, nice cookware, spatulas that aren’t torn apart and melted.
I of course have a lot of vintage pieces in my kitchen but I also love to mix in new stuff. So this week, I rounded up some of the items I think would make great additions to your table, and your kitchen.
My vintage, very Picasso-esque plates (sourced at a Salvation Army) and my beloved Sabre flatware; the linens are by Misette
This spiral silverware is really great, too.
I love these hand-shaped serving tongs and especially love that they are engraveable.
These charcoal gray velvet oven mitts are about as chic as oven mitts get. I love that they mimic boxing gloves.
I keep marble cellars next to my stove so I can easily season meals with salt and pepper as I cook. These red and tan marble salt cellars are gorgeous and I love the little tray.
File this one under great gift ideas: a black leather Joy of Cooking book that you can have personalized.
If you’re looking to upgrade your kitchen prior to the holidays, the best way to do it is with hardware. These white oak and brass cabinet pulls are fabulous.
I love a table runner and the colors of this scallop trim table runner would translate from holiday season to spring and summer easily.

As for plates and decorative servingware, head to the thrift store. I always find interesting plates which can work as places for dips and spreads and cheese and charcuterie. It’s so fun to mix and match, too. I encourage you to check underneath plates and see if there’s a maker’s mark or a region (Italy, Portugal, France and Spain are all great indicators that a ceramic or piece of pottery is well-made).

And these are some kitchen and dining spaces I am just really into at the moment, all found via Pinterest.
ODDS & ENDS
Did you know that Lenny Kravitz has a line for CB2? Unsurprisingly, it’s very sexy. I love this rice paper pendant lantern and this marble-topped console table.
Alex Mill has partnered with shoe brand Margaux on a chic line of mules and boots. The Clara flats look like The Row and they’re priced well at $325. (I have this pair of Margaux flats and wear them constantly — most comfortable shoes I own.)
A snack I’m into at the moment is this CBD chocolate. Just a square at night is all I need for a little treat.

I love pulling out my vintage Indiana Glass Company vintage amber glass dishes, plates and platters for special (and everyday) occasions! I have been buying them secondhand for decades. Some awesome inspiration here, Virginia!💕
