Over the course of my decades shopping for vintage, I’ve come across a handful of really great, under-the-radar brands that I return to again and again.

These are not the Valentinos and Ungaros of the vintage world — rather, these are the labels that most of us probably haven’t heard of, and certainly aren’t bookmarking on eBay and Poshmark. But we should be, because they are not only really high-quality, but they feel very now.

That’s my whole thing, if you’re new here. Yes, I love the affordability and sustainability aspects of shopping vintage but I also find it to be a really fun challenge: How can I shop for a modern trend by only perusing vintage racks?

One way I do it is to hunt for really specific brands and designers who make exactly what I like. So, I’m going to start sharing them with you in a new ongoing series — I’ll share the brand, why I love it, photos of the tags (so you know what to look for) and some images of pieces either available on the online vintage market or hanging in my own closet.

Today is a really great one to kick things off, because I’m sharing the maker of one of my all-time favorite vintage jackets: this quilted satin bomber, which I got at a Goodwill for $10 (and it looks so strikingly similar to Toteme it’s almost sickening).
