May was a good month for secondhand shopping. I went to Atlanta (briefly, just for a couple nights in order to catch a direct flight to Paris), I went to Paris, and I did a lot of secondhand shopping in Northeast Florida. Estate sales, Facebook Marketplace, and thrift stores were an absolute delight.

Truth be told, I have no real reason to buy at the moment. I am a long-time Super Seller on Chairish but the economy has been so tumultuous that people are very scared of buying anything at the moment. So while I often buy to resell, I also keep the economy in mind (so if people aren’t buying, I’m not listing as often — I will try to hold off on listing until the economy is in a better place, unless it’s something I think could sell quickly!)

But when you’re sourcing vintage, it’s hard to say no. Often, pieces are really affordable, so it’s a cheap thrill but even if they’re not, there’s a fear you may never seen them again — so you have to jump when you get the chance.

Fortunately, I got a lot of opportunities to “jump” in May. And jump, I did.

Keep reading for the secondhand finds I sourced in Paris, on Facebook Marketplace, at estate sales, and at thrift stores in May.

PS. For this month’s paid subscriber giveaway, I’m gifting a big set of my favorite summer beauty products — including my favorite body oil, a very chic murano-and-chrome toothbrush, my go-to eyelash serum, a full-size bottle of this hand-blended, best-selling scent and several other odds and ends. All paid subscribers are automatically entered, but you’ll get another entry if you like or comment on this post.
