Shopping for vintage is arguably among my favorite things in the universe — but I most often do it IRL. There’s a special sort of spark associated with unearthing a treasure from a pile of junk, raising it above your head in triumph, and marching it to the checkout counter with the fervor of someone who wants to get out before their luck runs out.
Shopping for vintage online rarely hits the same way, though… unless there’s a sale. Enter: the 1stDibs Fall Sale for up to 40% off, which I tore through this weekend in an effort to curate a few selects.
These are the pieces I think are well worth the price — the art that will grow in value in the years to come, the jewelry I think is so special you’ll wear it again and again, and the furniture that you simply cannot find elsewhere.
1970s French coffee table set by Raymonde Leduc, $2,734
Please zoom in on this 1970s coffee table set, which is inlaid with French ceramic artist Raymonde Leduc’s iconic garrigue botanical tiles, each one impressed with delicate foliage forms of leaves, branches, and ferns. I love the matching stools. This is art and furniture and simply spectacular.
green, turquoise and 14k gold earrings, $440
I’m not a huge fine jewelry person and generally prefer costume pieces. I love the blue-green colorway here. Such a statement.
1990s oil painting, $716
I had to include this beautiful oil painting, which has a scene that’s painted over the frame. It’s by an unknown artist but it looks to be well done and the colors are gorgeous.
Kosta Boda pink art glass vase, $224
I love a bud vase and the color on this one is spectacular. Kosta Boda vases are mouth-blown, handcrafted in Sweden, and very collectible.
Natalia Roman abstract painting, $712
This gorgeous abstract on paper comes in a substantial size and is under $1,000. For orginal art, that’s hard to beat.
Swedish vanity table, $2,292
This oak vanity was designed by Swedish duo Sven Engström & Gunnar Myrstrand Bodafors in the 1960s. It’s absolutely gorgeous and incredibly well-restored.
1960s leopard stools, $625
A pair of matching mid-century stools, with sexy legs, and already upoholstered in killer fabric? Say less.
1996 Marco Silombria figural painting, $401
This painting by late Italian artist Marco Silombria is fabulous and under $500. It also features gold leaf in the center (and for what it’s worth: some of his works have gone for several thousand at auction, making this a really good investment).
1960s rattan fish pendant light, $2,071
There are no words. This is just great and whimsical and fabulous.
1970s wall lights by Bruno Herbst, $840
The Swedes just know how to do lighting and this is a prime example. Under $900 for a pair of beautiful (quite sexy!) wall lights that would be so fun in a bathroom or flanking a large piece of art.
powder-coated aluminum table, $2,148
I love the shape, the industrial material, and the fact that this table can be used indoors or outdoors.
1970s ceramic floor lamp
This German lamp is nice and sizable and the shape is excellent. The marbled, amber-colored frosted glass really sets it apart.
Lanvin silk scarf, $208
This 1970s Lanvin silk scarf is great because it doubles as art. Imagine this framed in an acrylic shadow box and maybe mounted on a linen backing? Yes.
Shizico Yi triptych, $1,837
I love a big piece of art and a diptych or triptych is even better if you have the wall space. Think of this as three pieces for the price of one.
1970s red mirror, $926
This is a great mirror for a powder bath. The ledge on the bottom means you could display pretty perfume bottles and such. And the red makes such a fun statement.

ODDS & ENDS
Brooke Shields has a new haircare line and it’s really good. I’ve been using the detoxifying shampoo and probiotic smoothing conditioner. Both make my hair clean and well-moisturized and the scent is very nostalgic (it reminds me of all the scent samples tucked inside magazines back in the day).
I went to an all-day festival recently and this fruit enzyme deodorant came in clutch. It lasted and worked.
I also brought this face and body balm with me and have been slathering it all over my neck at night and any dry spots on my face. it’s vaguely citrusy and incredibly, incredibly moisturizing. I love that you can use it anywhere.
So many incredible picks! That 'Unknown' painting especially - we want to know everything about it !!
Loving the Silombria piece!!
